SCAPE is the first segment of the antennae and situated into a socket to move the antennae. PEDICLE is the second segment and contains the JOHNSTON'S ORGAN to detect motion in the flagillum. The antenna is covered with minute sensory hairs called  SENSORY SETAE to detect it's surroundings.
